Clackamas County Arts Alliance
Clackamas County Arts Alliance
Steering Committee Application
In January 2008 the Clackamas County Board of County Commissioners
(BCC) adopted the Public Art in Clackamas County Project Plan, 2007-2010, which describes the development process and importance of public art projects in various locations throughout the county.
The 82nd Drive/Park Place Pedestrian Bridge is a part of this plan, as the bridge is a major attraction to the surrounding communities. Re-construction of the bridge began in July 2008, with a scheduled completion expected by the end of 2008. In order to ensure the artwork created reflects the desires of the surrounding cities, community participation is of key importance.
Steering Committee Mission
To guide the development of temporary artwork that will enhance the 82nd
Drive/Park Place Pedestrian Bridge site, benefit the County citizens and bridge
users, and ensure that aesthetic decisions are integrated and consistent with existing cultural values and principles.
