Community Outreach and Education

Clackamas County Water Environment Services (WES) provides several educational opportunities to schools, community organizations and civic groups within CCSD #1. See how our Watershed Health Program works with SOLV and North Clackamas School District students.

SOLV Green Team Update

Whether you are a neighbor of one of our facilities, a teacher looking for educational materials, or an interested member of the community, WES staff members are available to answer your questions.  You can arrange for a tour or schedule a speaker for your next meeting or event.

    Speakers Bureau

Invite a member of the WES RiverHealth team to your organization’s next meeting to learn more about how RiverHealth programs affect your community. Speakers can be scheduled for just about any time or day. 
 

Please submit your request two weeks prior to the date of your meeting to avoid scheduling conflicts.

 

 Subject topics may include:

  •  Environmental Stewardship - Get an overview on WES projects and programs aimed at protecting the environment and public health;
  • Capacity Management Program - Learn how this investment will mitigate ongoing water quality permit violations and meet current and future mandates of the Clean Water Act, while addressing Clackamas County Service District No. 1’s (CCSD #1) shortage of treatment capacity;
  • Watershed Health - Learn about WES’ approach to watershed health and surface water management within CCSD #1;
  • North Clackamas Revitalization Area (NCRA) - Learn about the NCRA urban renewal district in the unincorporated area of north Clackamas County.

Or give WES your specific request in regard to CCSD #1, accommodations may be made.

    Tours

WES offers guided tours of its facilities to community, educational and business groups as time and staffing permits. 

Most tours last an hour and can be tailored to meet the specific interest needs of the group.
