Mt. Scott Creek Restoration

Clackamas County Service District No. 1

North Clackamas Park overlook deck construction is underway! CCSD #1 has partnered with North Clackamas Parks & Recreation District and the City of Milwaukie to improve lower Mt. Scott Creek within North Clackamas Park.

This project will enhance ecological functions and diversity for fish and wildlife, improve water quality in the creek, improve watershed health awareness, provide community stewardship opportunities, increase educational opportunities, and enhance community access to nature. Construction began in early September 2012, with overlook deck, construction and planting following in winter and spring 2013.

  • Log jam overlook, trail and new pedestrian bridge are open.
  • In-stream restoration is complete, first creekside planting took place December 8, and next creekside planting will take place by volunteers on February 9 - details online at www.friendsoftrees.org. Please join us from 9AM to 1PM to lend a hand!
  • Overlook deck construction - currently underway, completion expected early February.
  • Interpretive signage - spring 2013.

Please help us protect the planting areas by observing the fencing so the soil can support the plants and the new healthy habitat.

Thank you for your patience while we make these improvements!
