In-stream and Riparian Restoration Projects

-Improve Riparian Buffer
Five-year Partnership Agreements with three nonprofit watershed restoration groups (Friends of Trees, SOLV, and the Clackamas River Basin Council) have been completed and were approved by the Board of County Commissioners on Nov. 25, 2009. CCSD #1 is also considering additional agreements with the newly formed North Clackamas Urban Watershed Council (NCUWC), as well as others. These agreements involve funding and tracking the work activities: identification of riparian property owners in high priority stream reach areas who are willing to cooperate with restoration plans and maintenance agreements; removal of nonnative and invasive plants; planting of native plant species; maintenance activities, and development of educational materials. Landowner parcels will be identified within high priority stream reach areas from both the Rock Creek and Kellogg-Mt. Scott Creek Watershed Action Plans. Landowner outreach and educational materials will be produced beginning in Dec.2009-Jan. 2010, and restoration planting activities will take place between Jan. – Mar. 2010 for the first year with maintenance and follow-up through June, 2010.
